URGENT REQUIREMENT -

My client who are based in Peterlee are looking for a Dayshift Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician and a Nightshift Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to start ASAP

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

Job Purpose:

The client are a world leader in the design and manufacture of exhaust gas control systems for on/off highway and marine diesel engine applications. As they continue to grow the business, they are looking to recruit a qualified Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician (mechanical and electronics) on the CNC machines and lathes

Responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance of the equipment, this permanent full-time position is to ensure that all manufacturing equipment is fully operational at all times

Job Description:

  • Responsible for the routine preventative maintenance of all of Fanuc based equipment (such as Doosan, Kitamura, Bridgeport, Hyundai-Kia, Chiron, Fadal, Hitachi and MHP CNC machines and lathes)
  • Responsible for reacting to and dealing with breakdowns in machinery on both the machining and assembly sides of the business
  • Plans and executes assigned modification, repair and/or maintenance projects with a high degree of complexity with respect to costs, quality, safety and environmental aspects
  • Analyses technical problems on site
  • Executes start of operation of production service and systems
  • Executes mechanical and/or electrical repairs and works orders
  • Maintains proper documentation
  • Contributes to installation projects on site
  • Supports maintenance of technical documentation of processes and equipment
  • Dismantles, repairs, assembles and installs mechanical/electrical components on site
  • Performs tests and verifies correct functioning
  • Sets up and commissions machines and devices
  • Supports accountable engineers and other technicians in their tasks, both in maintenance and production
  • Checks completeness of documents and components for the proper execution of mechanical and electrical tasks
  • Prepares mechanical and electrical tools and equipment for use
  • May advise junior staff

Skills/experience:

  • Must have a relevant qualification in a maintenance and/or engineering discipline
  • Must have had industry experience working within an automotive engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in maintenance with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician role
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • A working knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, automotive production processes
  • Must be computer literate with a very good knowledge in the use of MS-Office packages
  • Must have very good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have a full UK drivers licence (may be required to go and get spare parts)

Salary :

£11.65 per hour depending on experience

plus shift premium (19% for dayshift and 30% for nightshift)

plus hourly bonus of £1.52 per hour (after probationary period)

plus 3% company pension contribution

Environment:

We offer an excellent working environment in which you will be required to work weekday nightshift based on the following hours (minimum 39 hours per week):-

Dayshift will be:

4 shifts on 4 shifts off 08:00am to 18:15pm with a half hour unpaid lunch break

(8 day rotation)

Nightshift will be:-

Monday to Thursday 21:45pm to 08:00am with a half hour unpaid lunch break
